Maldron Hotel Derry

This hotel is in a superb location right by the Derry Walls. Everything I wanted to do was easily accessible. The street map given to me on my arrival was very helpful. The hotel itself is clean and comfortable, and quiet. The breakfasts were excellent: a good choice of cooked sausage, egg, etc and cereals, yoghurts, fruit compote, baked goods, coffee, tea, etc. I can recommend the soda bread. My room was quite spacious, the TV worked (!). Last but not least, every member of the staff I met was friendly and helpful, whether on receptiuon, at breakfast, or cleaning the rooms. The Grain and Grill restaurant has a great menu and I had two evening meals there.

This hotel has city walls!! , so you have the chance and I highly recommended, to walk the top of the walls and enjoy the view!! It is Centered, walkable, pretty, comfortable rooms and bed, friendly staff, the bar tender Nico!, was super friendly and gave us recommendations and also Shannon from the reception and the restaurant staff super nice (breakfast!). Complete breakfast, very good!! Our room was very nice, comfy, big bed, spacious bathroom, and the hotel has it’s own PARKING!!!!!! Of course not many spaces but if you get there enough time before check in your probability to get a space is high. If not, there is another parking close to the hotel! Check in was easy. Very close to shops, mall, rest, plaza, and pubs!!! Its a very nice town to walk and enjoy!!

The comfiest bed ever, spacious room. Spotless clean. Breakfast was good and great choice. Location amazing. We upgraded to the king room and had chocolates and water and bathrobes in our room which was a nice touch. We only stayed for one night but we’ll definitely be back. The staff on reception were lovely. We also ate in the lyric grill next door. The food here was amazing and the staff couldn’t do enough for us. The crispy chicken loaded fries and the cocktails were really good!! Will definitely stay again!

The staff for check in were friendly, helpful also bar staff and dining..we received prompt and efficient service..the room was warm ,comfortable and clean...the food was superb , both at dinner and breakfast..

When we arrived, we were unable to enter the city walls to reach our Hotel as there was a commerative march during that time. Not a major proble, we left our car in a car park and wandered up to the Hotel to check in and have a cup of coffee. An hour or so later we collected the car and our suitcases. The hotel car park was full but there is another car park two minutes away just outside the city walls. Our room was comfortable, quiet and very clean. Dinner was superb as was breakfast the following morning. The Hotel must hang on to their Chef for his food preparation was excellent and we thoroughly enjoyed the dining eperience.
